Project Background:In 2002, the old Wembley Stadium was demolished to make way for the development of a magnificent new 90,000-seater state-of-the-art stadium unlike any other in the world, which would be the home of English football and to host large events such as Cup Finals, music events and athletics.. The new Wembley Stadium opened to the public on 9 March 2007. Designed by World Stadium Team (Foster & Partners and HOK Sport) the stadium, with a retractable roof and a 135m high arch visible throughout London.
Works Completed:Fastglobe was contracted to supply and install fire-rated joint sealant for the concrete terracing units. Fastglobe applied 100,000m of the specialist fire-rated sealant to both horizontal and vertical terrace joints. Fastglobe also supplied and installed mechanical movement joints and fire barrier systems where movements joints were too excessive for joint sealants.
