Ito-Balmond Pavilion
Location:Saint-Maxime, Southern France
Sector:Leisure
Date:2010
Project Background:Each year the Serpentine Gallery commissions a high-profile architect to build a pavilion on its lawn for the summer months. In 2002 it was Toyo Ito, Cecil Belmond and Arup in charge of the pavilion design. With its extremely complex and random pattern the structure created interesting lines formed from difference triangles and trapezoids. At the end of use the structure was dismantled and erected at the Hotel Le Bauvallon in southern France. The pavilion now serves as the beach club restaurant of the luxury hotel, across the bay from Saint Tropez.
Works Completed:Fastglobe are privilege to have completed mastic sealant works to this project. The structure was constructed from white-painted aluminium and glass and required sealing to their external interfaces. Our services successful ensured the structure was protected from external elements.
