Carradale House
Location:East London
Sector:Residential
Date:2012 - 2013
Project Background:Carradale House, a grade II listed residential tower block situated on a brownfield estate in Poplar, London, was designed by modernist architect Ernő Goldfinger in 1963. It is a striking example of brutalist architecture – a style which flourished from the 1950s to the mid 1970’s. The refurbishment project, carried out by PRP architects on behalf of Poplar Housing and Regeneration Community Association (HARCA), aimed to restore its original form, a requirement of English Heritage, whilst meeting modern energy and comfort standards
Works Completed:Fastglobe were contracted to complete the remedial replacement of the building's external façade joints. Working on site our workmanship and attitude was recognised and we secured further works; applying new mastic / sealant to the perimeter of newly installed windows and applying new mastic / sealant to internal communal and apartment areas.
